Georgian director George Ovashvili wins the CineBlackSea competition with his film THE OTHER BANK

Arad, Romania: The award ceremony marked the closure of the festival's first edition. For eight days, the festival in Arad allowed the discovery of new cinematic trends and unusual films - most of them as Romanian premieres. The CineBlackSea section focused exclusively on films produced in the Black Sea region – this year’s program featured films from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Armenia, Romania, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Greece, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Georgia and Russia. The Women in Cinema section was dedicated to female directors and producers and offered a variety of contemporary storytelling from around the globe.

September 21, 2009 - Arad, Romania: The Romania International Film Festival today announced the complete line up of films to be screened in the official competition between September 26 and October 4 in the City of Arad. The CineBlackSea section focuses exclusively on films produced in the Black Sea region – this year’s program features a total of 22 feature long films from Azerbaidjan, Turkey, Armenia, Romania, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Greece, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Georgia and Russia.

The Ro-IFF (September 26 to October 4, 2009) is proud to announce that Oscar® award winning actor, director and producer Kevin Costner will visit the festival with his band. The concert of Kevin Costner & Modern West on October 3, 2009, will be a highlight of the Romania International Film Festival. It will give an insight into Costner’s accomplishments besides filmmaking.

The Ro-IFF (September 26 to October 4, 2009) presents a special Focus program for acclaimed Serbian director Emir Kusturica. Kusturica and his Non Smoking Orchestra will also open the festival with a concert on Saturday, September 26.

Împreunã cu trupa sa, Modern West, Kevin Costner va sus?ine un concert în data de 3 octombrie la ?trandul Neptun din Arad.

Festivalul Internaþional de Film Bucureºti (BIFF) îºi schimbã denumirea in Festivalul Internaþional de Film din România (Romanian International Film Festival – Ro-IFF), începând cu editia din acest an. Aceasta modificare era necesara avand in vedere ca editia din acest an, vine cu un format nou si, in acelasi timp, festivalul isi schimba locul de desfasurare. Ro-IFF 2009 vine în faþa cinefililor cu un nou ºi cutezãtor format.

Între 26 septembrie ºi 4 octombrie, Aradul va fi locul in care cinematografia de înaltã clasã îºi dã întâlnire, graþie festivalului de film Ro – IFF, organizat de Fundaþia Artis, în parteneriat cu Casa de Culturã a Municipiului Arad ?i cu sprijinul Primãriei Arad ºi al Centrului Naþional al Cinematografiei.

Una dintre cele mai importante prezen?e din cadrul Festivalului Interna?ional de Film din Romînia (Ro-IFF), festival ce se desfã?oarã în perioada 26 septembrie – 4 octombrie la Arad, este, fãrã indoialã, Emir Kusturica – în dublã ipostazã :de regizor ?i de muzician. Festivalul organizat de Fundatia Artis cu sprijinul Primãriei Municipiului Arad ?i a Casei de Cultura Arad - dedicã sec?iunea FOCUS regizorului Emir Kusturica.
